The Oubliette

Apothecary shelves 2.avif

Tucked away behind an unassuming passage lies The Oubliette — Monolith's secret bar and immersive back room. In striking contrast to the retro-futuristic style of the main lounge, The Oubliette evokes a darker, more introspective atmosphere. Inspired by 18th and 19th-century apothecaries, clandestine cocktail labs, and the dim corners of Old World curiosity shops, this hidden space offers an experience that’s theatrical, intimate, and entirely transportive.

Open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, with seating for 25–30 guests, The Oubliette is a deliberate retreat — designed for those who seek a deeper kind of cocktail encounter. The space is cloaked in shadows and texture: backlit antique glassware lines dark wooden shelves, botanical prints and arcane diagrams adorn the walls, and flickering candlelight glows against brass fixtures and aged mirrors. A faint scent of herbs and smoke lingers in the air, and the many shelves are adorned with dried herbs and flowers, steeping tinctures, and botanical bitters and extracts.

The bar itself resembles an old-world workbench, with bartenders moving like alchemists — measuring, infusing, and torching with ritualistic precision. The menu in The Oubliette is distinct from Monolith's, featuring experimental, small-batch cocktails with complex builds and rare ingredients. Many are served in bespoke glassware or with subtle interactive elements — evoking curiosity without feeling gimmicky.

Access is by reservation or invitation only, reinforcing its air of mystery and exclusivity. The Oubliette is more than a secret bar; it’s a narrative space—a chamber of secrets where the curious are rewarded, and the familiar rules of nightlife no longer apply.

In short, The Oubliette deepens the Monolith experience. It’s a hidden chapter—a shadowed contrast to the glow of the main lounge, built for those who want to go further down the anachronistic rabbit hole.

It will also be an ideal venue for small parties and private, invite-only events, such as:
